Moving on up to the West Side

I wanted to share with everyone that I just moved from Redmond, WA to Seattle, WA, and now I have a new, more permanent address:

Cabe Matthews
718 4th Ave N, Apt. #20
Seattle, WA 98109

Mapquest/GoogleEarth me and check out how sweet of a location it is. I finally got a piece of the pie.

I'm super stoked about the postcard. if it hurries it might earn the distinction of being the first piece of mail i receive at my new address.

i live in Lower Queen Anne, which balances urban living with not being overly ghetto or overly yuppie. the only downside is that parking is difficult.

P.S. - Every year around Christmas time I drink eggnog, thinking that I really love it. I'm drinking an Eggnog Latte right now at Tully's ("A joyous union of eggs and nogs"). In a related story, it turns out eggnog is just sort of okay, and not really all that spectacular like I remember.

Until next year when I rediscover this cold hard truth once more, this is Cabe, signing off.

do you mean rum? because if not, then i have no idea what you mean.

are you going to throw a housewarming party? there are some appetizer recipes i could let you have.

Cabe said...

i don't know, would you show up if we did?

Anonymous said...

can't you add whipped cream?

it depends on who 'we' includes.

Cabe said...

evidently you can add espresso and steamed milk, although admittedly that would have tasted better with a bit of rum as well.

'we' includes at least myself and my roommate Justin, and probably an assortment of Mars Hill students. of course all of you would be invited, but you probably wouldn't come because not paying for a plane ticket is more important to you than your friendship with me :(

cookies and beer? do cookies go with beer?

general question to the WitBrev community:

what are the best foods to go with beer?

on a slightly different subject, i was at a bar the other day, and i became very nostalgic for dollar margaritas at el arroyo. tequila floater, please. amaretto doesn't work.

and did we lose Drew again?

i second the Zapp's comment, plus i just had beer and quesadillas, and it was pretty dern good. Sierra Nevada Celebration and Pyramid Hefe.

For the inner snob in all of us, there's also the Dogfish 120 Minute with some nice british cheese.

Cabe said...

my personal favorite: a Fireman's #4 and a jalapeño cheeseburger.

i wouldn't know a nice cheese if it slapped me in the face. whatever that means. plus I'm not a fan of Dogfish because I'm not a big hops guy. for snobbery purposes, give me a quality Belgian, like some Chimay or some Kwak, and I guess throw in some cheese or something. or maybe some jalapeño poppers or something. they have cheese in them.

i know what you'll say, that those Belgians have lots of hops in them too. i know that, but for whatever reason the hoppiness in most Belgians is much less offensive to me than an IPA or other styles of ales known for their hops.

I had a good belgian beer the other day, and I have to say, it went well with chocolate.

Cabe said...

chocolate and beer? sounds good. what kind of Belgian, what kind of chocolate?

what about Young's Double Chocolate Stout? you've got food and beer right there in the same can.

Cabe said...

don't forget to spread some honey lager on your toast, too.

the_andude said...

it was Leffe, but I don't remember what chocolate

beer and badasses really get you all going.

Cabe said...

Tiff-

everybody's got their expertise, and we're just a bunch of badasses who enjoy beer.

Sam-

Chicken and Beer!!! Reminds me of the old days down on Oltorf when Peabody and Nate and I would have chicken and beer Tuesdays. those were the days.

Andude-

I enjoy Leffe. those Belgians are badasses themselves.

man... i only played pool basketball once even though i lived there and it was awesome. remember that cabe? we all made plans to drive to denver for the final FIF show, dang that was a long time ago. wish i could go back and advise myself to hang out more

Cabe said...

hoose-

yeah. why didn't we go to Denver? that would have been awesome. if you have a chance to go back and advise yourself, advise both of ourselves to take that trip to Denver.

welcome to Witless Brevity. sit down and stay awhile; make yourself at home. would you like anything to drink? out of curiousity, how did you find your way here?

Merry X-mas Witless Brevity and friends.

Merry Christmas to all. Cabe is loved as well, and I think we all know I proved that when I kissed him on the cheek last time I saw him. A brotherly kiss. A HOLY brotherly kiss. Therefore, awesome.

Andude,
when i first read your comment, i thought it said "butterfly kiss". brotherly is better though, i guess.

this might have inspired a post.
